Careers
As a thriving and growing practice, we’re always looking for more ambitious and dedicated people to join our team. In fact, we often have opportunities in a range of roles across audit, accounts, tax and outsourcing.
As approved training partners for ACA, ACCA, AAT, CTA and ATT, we are able to support you to grow and develop in your career. You also benefit from being part of Accelerate – a wider network of independent accountancy firms, which means that you will have access to additional training, support and advice.
AUDIT SEMI-SENIOR VACANCY
We have an excellent career opportunity for a high calibre part-qualified ACA or ACCA accountant, or a recently qualified AAT, looking to progress their career in a successful and expanding audit team. We are one of the leading independent firms of Chartered Accountants in the North West, with a strong audit reputation and an excellent record of success with our trainees.
Your continued training will include paid study time and be fully funded through to qualification. The role will be an interesting and varied one, weighted towards audit but offering regular exposure to preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
You should have good audit experience to date, which we will build on and develop. You will oversee and review the work of junior members of the team and will be reporting to audit seniors, supervisors, managers and partners.
We use Caseware audit software and CCH accounts and taxation software, so previous experience of these would be advantageous, but not essential. You must have good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
You will be attending clients’ premises on a regular basis, so a full driving licence and access to a car is required.
We offer a competitive salary with regular reviews, paid overtime, free parking, flexi-time, workplace pension and regular social events.
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter to our Bolton office for the attention of Mr D Kay or by email to dak@barlow-andrews.co.uk.
AUDIT AND ACCOUNTS TRAINEE VACANCIES
We are currently recruiting for our 2024 intake of accounts and audit trainees. We are looking for high calibre candidates to join our successful and growing business. They must have a strong academic record and strong numerical skills, an analytical mind and an attention to detail and accuracy. Candidates should be well-rounded individuals with good communication and social skills.
Barlow Andrews offers an excellent training environment, which is challenging, supportive and enjoyable. The training offered is fully funded and includes both academic and personal development courses. Positions are available to join us as university graduates or straight from A-Level. Trainees joining would go onto a Level 4 Apprenticeship, working towards a qualification as either a Chartered Accountant (ACA) or an Accounting Technician (AAT). The AAT route often then leads onto the further ACA qualification.
Our students invariably go on to achieve great success in the profession, the grounding they receive here acting as a fantastic springboard for their future careers. A number of our current partners trained and qualified here, whilst other trainees have gone on to forge successful careers both in the UK and abroad, including in Big 4 firms.
To apply, please send your CV with a covering letter or email, explaining why you would like to train at Barlow Andrews. Applications should be sent for the attention of Alison Cornes, or by email
to ac@barlow-andrews.co.uk. Please apply as soon as possible, as we are aiming to conclude the recruitment process by 31 March 2024.
